The Heather Gardens Foundation

May contain: grass, nature, outdoors, park, plant, neighborhood, lawn, vegetation, city, architecture, building, campus, yard, land, tree, and woodland

Heather Gardens Foundation began in 1991 when a memorial was offered for lighting to be installed along the pathways around our golf course.  Being a part of the Heather Gardens Association did not qualify for tax-exempt status at that time.  We now operate under the guidance of the Heather Gardens Metropolitan District, which allows all future contributions to be tax-deductible to the donor.

Retirement Community Donations

Monetary amounts have not been calculated; however, the archives show that many have chosen to honor their loved ones.

Items acquired have included two organs, automatic doors, paintings, audio equipment, tee signs, a drop box, benches, trees, an aerial map, trash receptacles, a Steinway console piano, and a fountain located close to buildings 204 and 205 illuminated during evening hours. The latest achievement has been a large American flag located at the entrance to Heather Gardens, which is illuminated permanently. It is believed this display represents the solidarity of Heather Gardens residents' support of victims, volunteers, and our government following the September 11, 2001 attack.

The Foundation thanks all past and future contributors, and invites bequests, memorials, and donations for any projects that will enhance our Heather Gardens retirement community in Aurora, CO.  These will continue to be acknowledged in the permanent display in the lobby of the Community Center.
